To operate with bookmark collections means to create, review, edit, and store updated changes on the disk. Icon
works as a controller during this operation. It appears on the status bar when any changes to collection have been made, and scrolls away when changes have been saved.
New Collection Wizard helps you to create a new bookmark collection. This procedure is very easy, just select File | New from the main menu, or press Ctrl+N and follow instructions of the Wizard. New collections will be created and displayed on the selected collection panel.
To open bookmark collection, select the command File | Open from the main menu, or press Ctrl+O. Then enter the file name of the collection within the displayed box. Collection will be opened and displayed on the selected collection panel.
To reopen bookmark collection, select File | Reopen from the main menu. Then select the required collection from the list of already opened collections within the displayed dropdown menu.
If necessary, the list of the open collections could be cleared by the command Clear List from the dropdown menu.
Opening of one bookmark collection in the second panel (repeated opening) is convenient for reorganization of collections. To reopen collection on the second panel, select File | Reopen in the other panel from the main menu, or press Ctrl+R.
To save bookmark collection under its name, select File | Save from the main menu, or press Ctrl+S.
To save bookmark collection file under a new name, select command File | Save as from the main menu. Then enter a new name for the collection file on the displayed dialog box.
To save a copy of bookmark collection under a new name, select command File | Save as from the main menu. Then enter a new name of collection and click on check box As a Copy within the displayed dialog box.
To save all open bookmark collections, choose command File | Save all from the main menu, or press Alt+S.
To rename bookmark collections, select Action | Rename from the main menu, or press F2. Then enter a new collection name.
The tool Search has a role of a quick searching of information in the bookmark collection using symbol mask. To display the dialog box Search, choose command Tools | Search, or press Alt+F7. On the opened field of the Search for box, type up the searching symbol mask (on the Search for field) and collection name (on the Collection field), and also, if necessary, additional options: Name - search among bookmark names Addresses (URLs) - search among bookmark addresses Descriptions - search among bookmark descriptions Keywords - search among bookmark keywords Case sensitive - search with register consideration Whole word - search for the whole word The search is applied automatically after typing up at least one of the mask symbol. The results of searching are displayed into table located in the same window. To go to the found bookmark, left-click on the Go to link button, or press Ctrl+Enter.
You can compare two bookmark collections or folders using the synchronization procedure, and then copy new bookmarks into them. The Dialog box of the synchronization procedure can be opened by selecting Tools | Synchronize from the main menu, or by pressing Ctrl+Alt+S.
Within the dialog box of the synchronization procedure, perform the following operations:
Select two bookmark collections or folders for synchronization
Select the type of comparison - to compare links only, or links and folders
Point out criteria for comparison:
to include subfolders
to compare bookmark names
to compare bookmark descriptions
Point out parameters of displaying comparison results. Indicators used for that are located in the upper part of the dialog box:
| - to indicate bookmark available in the bookmark collection that is located on the left; and not available in the collection located on the right | ||
| - to indicate bookmark available in the bookmark collection that is located on the right; and not available in the collection located on the left | ||
| - to point out the same bookmarks | ||
| - to point out the bookmarks that have the same addresses but different names and/or descriptions |
To search link duplicates select Tools | Find duplicates from the main menu, or press Ctrl+Alt+D. Within the displayed dialog box select the bookmark collection, search options, and press the Find button.
Setting indicators of searching parameters are located at the upper left corner of the dialog box and have the following values:
Subfolders - to search duplicates in included folders
Whole address (URLs) only -- when you turn on this setting, the entire address of bookmarks as they are stored in the bookmark collection are compared. When this setting is turned off, only the root segments of addresses are compared - these are the web-site addresses
Found duplicates, displayed in the form of tables, can be placed and deleted by left clicking on the Delete button.
To close bookmark collection, select the File | Close command from the main menu.
To display the dialog box Properties, select the Action | Properties command of the main menu, or press Alt+Enter.
To display the dialog box Security, select Action | Properties command of the main menu or right-click on the selected bookmark collection, or press Alt+Enter and then select Security tab.
In a context menu, the most frequently used commands for operation with bookmark collections are grouped. To get to the context menu, right-click the selected bookmark collection.
